Beginning
Janet Lee started Aqua Action, a scuba diving facility on San San Beach in
Portland.
Establishment
Jan Lee incorporated Lady G'Diver, Ltd at San San Beach.
Lady G'Diver was founded with a vision to create a diving school that offered an
exhilarating and safe learning experience for all. Her journey began with a passion for exploring the depths and sharing that passion with others.
Jan Lee moved to Dragon Bay Villas. Lady G' was now operating three dive boats, a glass bottom boat, and kayaks and
sailboats employing up to eleven employees. Hard work and reputation paid off.
In 1993 Steve joined her as a business partner and unknown then, her future husband.
PADI Certification
Until 1995, they operated as ACUC Instructors, then changed to PADI and they became PADI Master Scuba Diver Instructors.
After years of hard application, they achieved the prestigious PADI 5 Star Diving Resort certification, solidifying their commitment to excellence in
diving education and training.
Lady G' was an early pioneer along with a young student back then who was destined to become the
founding Mother of the Foundation, Francesca, setting up conservation guidelines, coral nursery beds, and unofficially enforcing fishing rules
along the coastline which eventually became the East Portland Fish Sanctuary.
NITROX Introduction
Lady G' introduced NITROX to their diving services, allowing divers to enjoy longer and more adventurous dives.
HMJS Paul Bogle wreck dive
After three years of negotiations, paperwork, and finagling: generous donors and a determined team sank the decommissioned HMJS Paul Bogle, P8, to
serve as a fish habitat, research laboratory and growth environment and to offer a safe and comfortable wreck dive of the 105 foot Coastal
Cruiser at a depth of 60 feet.
A lasting legacy to the work and dedication of Jan Lee along the Portland coastline.
Global Recognition
Lady G'Diver has gained global recognition for it's dedication to safety, quality, and exceptional diving experiences. Her commitment to upholding
the highest standards has made Lady G'Diver a trusted name in the diving community internationally.
Lady G'Diver is the oldest running scuba
diving business in Jamaica operated by the same original owner. Thousands of persons have been trained and certified by Lady G'Diver.
Jan continues her hybrid
as a family business with the addition of its newest business partner, niece Lee Ann, who is destined to continue the traditions and high standards since its inception.
